Einstein once said “it has become appallingly obvious that our technology exceeds our humanity”. However, in spite of its profits, the effect of social media behavior within the virtual environment is worrying . The way that it is presented nowadays as a part of who we are, and how it establishes a context that affects the human demeanor, and even the whole world economy, has been claimed that we are increasingly being distant from ourselves. The question here is how it grieves our health both physical and psychological.
As quoted in an article on the famous website The Independent, using social media can frequently make us feel increasingly unhappy and isolated in the long run. It is interesting, to some extent, if we observe the form the marketing is installed within the virtual platforms, its strategies and what are its effects. Working through internet algorithms, it recommends products that the internet knows well by analyzing our latest searches - these are called Cookies, as explained on the Wikipedia website. The manner in which the advertisements persecute us is odd. Being present to us not only in the form of skippable advertisements on websites and blogs, but in videos or photos on Instagram, it incorporates our favorite famous, unknowingly deciding a significant part of our life in our place. Overall, the Economic Marketing Mechanism is totally linked to the social issue.
While the Marketing Industry gains with our impulsive purchases, we gain (or maybe think that we gain) with likes, comments and shares - this is what Baily Parnell, a public speaker considered one of 100 woman more powerful in Canada, stated firmly on her Ted Talks named “is social media hurting our health”, calls by “Social Currency”. She talks on this video, available on youtube, about how the people let their social repercussions modify their lives. It would be ignorant if we do not remember to cite anxiety, depression and stress here as examples of social media implications - mainly girls, from an early age, start to be pressioned by the filter photos and the perfect body shapes of the girl, who have a weighty quantity of followers, which intends them to those types of diseases.
The big world of networks has grown. Talking with empirical evidence, a recent survey by the broadbandsearch website shows that every second 11 people use social media for the first time. The place where wireless energy brings us together is also a place where a totally innovative context ensues. We know that Einstein was a genius to be totally wrong in one of his statements and it shows us the evolution of humanity through the virtual platform is more than what we can see on our mobile screen.
