Como parte do aprendizado de nossos alunos, ao final de cada unidade, nós propomos o desenvolvimento de projetos. Dessa vez, a proposta foi que desenvolvessem um programa que possa fazer parte do SUS
Teenage Pregnancy Program
Everybody knows
that pregnancy is one of the most delicate things that someone can pass
through. But I think there is a special case that needs more attention
than it really has: the teenage pregnancy.
Some statistics show us astounding data. For example, both in the USA and in Brazil, more than 400 thousand teen girls get pregnant every year; and the 4th country in South America with a huge quantity of teen pregnant, 68,4 in a group of 100, in a research of 2015.
First of all, it is important to talk about its causes. They are countless, but we can cite myths and peer pressure, lack of parental guidance and positive role model, low self-esteem, no expectative of a future life (without wishes and yearnings) and, the main one, lack of information on safe sex and birth control measures.
One carelessness can results in many consequences, such as: financial dependence, education interrupted, single parenthood, negligence and abuse of the child and, the most dangerous, maternal mortality, premature birth and stillborn.
Therefore, it is extremely necessary take measures against it. For those who are already pregnant and don't have a good financial condition, the public health system must provide psychological support, medical assistance and resources to take care of the baby.
And to prevent other teen pregnancies, the families must break with this taboo and talk more with their children about sex, so they can introduce this topic in a correct way. Also, the government MUST provide sex education classes at schools, so they can learn the healthy ways and the protection methods.

Homeless Program
A lot of health problems have been occurred all over the world, however researchers are working to defeat that, but not all of them can reach specific areas. Then some plans have been developed, like kits of emergency, medicines, curatives and so on.
In the metropolitan area, there is a big concentration of problems, such as homeless people. To solve it, cities debut a medical center care, where they can take a doctor's appointment twice per month.
Including the appointment, they earn one simple kit with medicines and items of personal care.
This management should decrease the number of people living on the streets, because institutions like ROTARY, SSVP and the small ones, are working with the medical center care, taking care of their daily meals and hygiene.
Maybe some homeless refuse this treatment, but we mustn't stop help them, because they have dreams and it encourages them to have a better life.

Flood Program
As we know,
Brazil is very likely to have floods, based on that, I have created a program to
help people who are suffering because of it, and it is called: Survival Kit for
Natural Disasters (S.K.N.D).
It is
very simple, is basically a pack that can be distributed for people all over
Brazil, or just in the areas that the risks are higher. Its content must be great
for helping those ones that have been hit by a flood, the pack contains a floatable
boat with a life jacket, that increases the chances of survival.
Besides
the boat and the life jacket, the pack contains: 2 flashlights, 1 first aid
kit, canned food and bottled water, a map, a switchblade, a lighter, clothes
and a blanket.
If this
pack was part of a health program, many lives could be saved when it happens
and could be improved with other items or even a manual of how everything
should be used correctly.
